ORGANOMETALLIC CATALYSIS TECHNICIAN
(Must be Local to Houston/Baytown and Surrounding Area)
DUTIES
-Organic/Organometallic Chemistry
-Ligand Design
-Metal Complexation
-Air-Moisture Sensitive Techniques
-Application of NMR spectroscopy
-High Throughput Experimentation
-Reporting
-Interfacing with advanced computer software
SKILLS
-Organic/Organometallic Chemistry
-Ligand Design
-Metal Complexation
-Air-Moisture Sensitive Techniques
-Application of NMR spectroscopy
-High Throughput Experimentation
-Dry box or Schlenk line techniques
-Perform work in a collaborative environment involving synthesis of new materials
-Run experiments following procedures and collecting analytical data
-Operate batch autoclaves for olefin polymerizations
-Use and maintain a dry box for catalyst preparation
-Operate and maintain laboratory equipment Interface with Ph.D. Chemists daily
-Calculates, analyzes, and interprets data, properly document results
REQUIREMENTS
-A BS or MS, Chemistry, is REQUIRED.
-Experience in laboratory work, analytical chemistry, and field sampling coordination, techniques, and strategies
-Excellent numerical analysis skills Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Experience in synthetic organic and/ or inorganic is REQUIRED.
-Must be capable of working independently in a dry box or using Schlenk line techniques, and interfacing with advanced computer software.
-Advanced knowledge of various chemistry related computer software.
-Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
