We are currently looking for Packaging Production Specialist for a major food products manufacturer.
The Packaging Specialist is responsible for Maintaining consistent flow of product. Able to sort quality defects and ensure consistent stack sizes to wrappers. Be able to man machines and focus on surrounding machines that feed the line.
Count product being stacked in layers in boxes.
Stack products on conveyor line while monitoring the product flow and quality.
Remove product from conveyor line and stack in assembled box as needed.
Monitor Pouch count from conveyor to case packer.
Must be able to perform minor fixing on machine
Monitor the conveyor line from the freezer down the slide while performing quality checks on products.
Monitors Metal Detector for the metal detection Step (includes observations or measurements) to assess whether the critical control point (CCP)
Operation Cartoner as needed
Periodic cleaning of the freigo freezer
Must be able to clean as necessary for food safety and maintenance of machines/freezers
Must understand and practice safe work practices, food safety (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards at all times.
Responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Follow required Standards and Procedures for operation
Basic understanding process flow in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience/training in Lean Manufacturing principles
Able to read, write and comprehend English
Basic knowledge of computer skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible with changing priorities
Flexible in working hours, able to work overtime on either before or after the shift as needed and on weekends.
Swing shift: 9:30p-6:00a
**Hours are with business needs. You will be responsible for checking your schedule for your shift each week. Hours are reviewed and evaluated on a weekly basis.
Education and Experience Required:
High School Diploma or GED Required
Minimum 1 year experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Position works in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to work in areas that are hot or cold, surfaces may be slippery, climb ladders/stairs, or work in tight quarters.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
Standing for long periods at a time.
Safely Pushing/pulling boxes, bins, totes, pallet jacks as needed.
Regularly twist and reach to move product
The work environment is a production facility with moderate noise levels.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
Employee occasionally is required to lift up to 30 lbs.
No jewelry, no nail polish
All PPE supplied (hard hat, lab coat, glasses, ear plugs, beard/hairnet, gloves)
Steel toed Boots/Composite-Oil Resistant shoes/boots required.
