Patient Benefits Specialist
$24-$25/hr (6-Month Contract) – Coppell, TX

A well-established medical organization in Coppell, TX is seeking an experienced Patient Benefits Specialist to join their team on a 6-month contract. This role plays a critical part in front-end revenue cycle operations, with a focus on benefits verification, insurance coordination, and patient support.

Pay Rate: $24–$25 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract (6 months)
Location: Coppell, TX (on-site role)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Verify patient insurance benefits, deductibles, and eligibility with a variety of payers including Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO, and third-party plans.

  • Communicate with patients regarding coverage, billing concerns, and payment options.

  • Submit and follow up on prior authorizations and clean claims.

  • Process referrals and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Enter and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and billing information.

  • Identify and correct front-end billing errors to maximize reimbursement.

  • Provide timely updates to patients, providers, and internal teams regarding claim and authorization status.

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and handle all patient information confidentially.

Why You'd Be a Great Fit:

  • 1–3 years of experience in patient-facing medical billing, coding, or insurance verification.

  • Strong understanding of insurance guidelines and medical billing practices, including CPT, ICD-9/10, and HCPC coding.

  • Experience handling high-volume calls and communicating with both patients and insurance carriers.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and medical billing software.

  • Known for attention to detail, customer service focus, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
