Description

Kelly Engineering has an outstanding direct hire opportunity for a Product Development Manager (Mechanical & Systems) with an industry leader experiencing dynamic growth in the Greater Madison, WI area. This position offers a highly competitive compensation package and the chance to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.

In this high-impact, hands-on role, you will lead and mentor a talented team of engineers developing next-generation electro-mechanical products. You'll drive innovation at the intersection of mechanical design, systems engineering, and life sciences, overseeing the design, integration, and delivery of advanced equipment while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and prioritize tasks across the mechanical and systems engineering functions to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development of direct reports
  • Develop and refine complex electro-mechanical assemblies integrating mechanical, optical, fluidic and electronic subsystems
  • Define, manage, and maintain systems requirements with traceability to verification, validation, and risk management activities
  • Lead integration efforts for prototypes and functional systems working closely with other engineering managers and disciplines
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement correct actions on technical challenges across sub-systems
Qualifications:
  • Experience designing, prototyping, and testing complex electro-mechanical products/systems, ideally in medical devices, diagnostics, or life sciences instrumentation
  • 2+ years of experience in technical leadership
  • Strong background in systems engineering and multi-disciplinary product integration.
  • Minimum of a BS degree in a related discipline
