Description

Production Operator

Pay Rate: $22.20/hour
Schedule: 12-hour shift | 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Days: Friday through Sunday (3-day workweek)

Position Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment to convert raw materials into finished products while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are consistently met. This role supports production goals through accurate documentation, in-process testing, and adherence to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate production equipment and machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures.

  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure products meet quality and specification requirements.

  • Perform in-process quality checks, including measurements such as hardness, weight, variation, pH, and moisture content.

  • Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.

  • Identify equipment malfunctions or product defects and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

  • Follow blueprints, subassembly layouts, schematics, and work instructions as required.

  • Maintain accurate logs of production orders received, work completed, and inventory levels.

  • Support production flow by aligning workload, staffing, and equipment capacity with available inventory.

  • Communicate with materials planning, production, and maintenance teams to coordinate activities and support scheduling.

  • Requisition materials as needed based on production plans and delivery timelines.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Little to no prior manufacturing experience required; on-the-job training provided.

  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

  • Basic math and measurement skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Skill Level & Job Scope
  • Entry-level position; acquires basic job skills and learns company policies and procedures.

  • Performs routine and standardized tasks under established guidelines.

  • Uses established procedures and work instructions to complete assigned duties.
