Job Title: Production Supervisor
Type: Temp to Hire/ Direct Hire
Location: Bloomingdale, IL
Pay rate: $80K-$85K.
Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday

  • 3rd Shift 10:00pm- 6:30am (A)
  • 3rd Shift 11:00-7:30am (B)
  Overview
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the day-to-day operations of assigned areas, ensuring smooth flow and efficient production. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This is a full-time position with weekend availability as needed.


Job Duties
  • Oversee and monitor day-to-day operations of assigned area(s), including workflow, work in process management, job assignments, and rotations, to ensure smooth flow and efficient production.
  • Participate in the scheduling process, reviewing advance production schedules and communicating any issues in a proactive and timely manner for resolution. Coordinate and communicate schedules to leads and employees to ensure daily production schedules are met.
  • Produce and review daily production reports for schedule adherence, efficiencies, and other data. Provide reports and information to managers and other designated personnel as required.
  • Ensure key performance indicators in the production area are met or exceeded. Measure productivity daily with the goal of meeting standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain supplies, products, equipment, and services necessary to meet production schedules.
  • Work with other supervisors to solve common issues and develop teamwork among all shifts. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Monitor product quality and work with Quality to ensure specifications are met. Monitor quality control as needed to ensure all products and packaging are neat, clean, correctly packed, and labeled.
  • Ensure that safety and quality policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives. Recommend continuous improvement ideas.
  • Support positive employee relations, fair treatment, and respect in all aspects of interaction with employees. Address employee concerns and requests in a timely and caring manner. Ensure all employees and ideas are respected and valued, leveraging their unique and diverse perspectives to improve business results.
  • Actively engage in the performance of your team through setting objectives and measuring performance, with guidance and coaching from managers.
  • Actively participate in Tier II meetings.
  • Consistently adhere to the Core Values of NOW and align team objectives with operating tenets.
  • Comply with safety and GMP requirements.
  Qualification
  • Associate degree OR at least three years of related experience in a food manufacturing or GMP environment OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree desired.
  • Prior lead experience and/or supervisory experience in a GMP environment required.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, including 5S and Lean Practices, is helpful.
  • Intermediate Word and Excel skills required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, or visitors. Oral and written Spanish language skills are preferred.
