QA Associate

Compensation: $25-27/hr
Schedule:  M-F, 1st shift
Location: Malvern, PA
Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Summary:
The Quality Assurance Associate performs various quality-related activities as well as microbiology lab testing and report writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs lab tests in the areas of bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology.
  • Performs environmental monitoring of plant utilities and production clean zones using particle counters, contact plates and microbial air samplers.
  • Performs routine and non-routine microbiological testing such as water bioburden, endotoxin, and media growth promotion, Gram staining and microbial identifications.
  • Performs enumeration and characterization of microorganisms recovered from samples.
  • Performs growth promotion.
  • Performs Routine Testing, Proficiency Testing and Data Review.
  • Performs Microbiological test methods and protocol driven studies for AET testing.
  • Provides written and verbal updates on projects and activities as required.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and methods.
  • Analyzes and interprets analytical data.
  • Contributes to improved laboratory operations, processes and procedures.
  • Performs filter integrity testing.
  • Performs project planning and scheduling.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Microbiology/Biology or related science
  • 0-2yrs of industry experience > undergraduate research, internship, co-op considered in lieu of industry experience
  • Proficient computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Understanding of additional computer program such as AccountMate.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written English.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Proficient multitasking skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and requests with good attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions and technical procedures.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents and logarithms.
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
