Kelly is hiring a QA Lab Technician for one of our food manufacturing clients in Byesville, OH

  • 3 month contract to cover a Maternity Leave (May have potential to be converted to perm if they have an opening)
  • Pay: $17/hr
  • 2nd shift M-F 2:30pm-11:00pm

Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician reports to the Quality Supervisor. The QA tech is responsible for assurance that blended product and finished goods meets or exceeds quality standards established by the company and Kerry customers. This position will verify conformity through measurement and assessment. All data points are to be collected and entered into computer systems, primarily SAP. The role of QA technician requires sound judgement to make rational decisions pertaining to recommended adjustments, corrective actions and disposition of goods. Success in this position requires fast paced performance in a team environment and interpersonal skills.

Key Job Functions & Responsibilities:

1. Assessment of finished product quality using standard test methods.
2. Data entry of test results into SAP software.
3. Provide support to plant production to ensure continuous quality operations.
4. Investigate, collect data and implement solutions to quality issues.
5. Recommend changes and improvements based upon analysis, knowledge and experience.
6. Assist Quality Manager with special projects, reports and training needs.
7. Inspection of machines/vessels/work areas to ensure compliance with GMP and food safety standards.
8. Maintain and secure manufacturing specification controlled documents.
9. Generate shift paperwork or paperless records to support daily shift activity.
10. Perform random case audits for quality, package and coding compliance.
11. Collection, assembly and shipment of customer samples and paperwork.

Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent required; 2 year degree preferred.
One to three year(s) experience in food or beverage manufacturing environment as a QA technician or process operator.
Commitment to quality and process improvement.
Strong technical skills particularly in the area of quality management.
Strong mathematical aptitude for potential statistical process control.
Ability to communicate findings and provide solutions verbally and in report format.
Problem resolution/Critical Thinking skills.
Ability to work within time constraints and complete tasks within specified time frames or deadlines.
Attention to detail with excellent written and oral communication skill
Self-motivated and team orientated.
High level of integrity.
