Quality Control Sample Specialist

Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Control Sample Specialist for a contract-to-hire position at a cutting-edge client in Hayward, CA. Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm onsite Overview
This client is an industry-leading company in the nutrition and wellness space, offering superior quality products using nature's finest whole food ingredients backed by leading-edge science. The Client is on a mission to make the world a healthier and happier place.
As a Quality Control Sample Specialist, you will manage and track Quality Control test samples from the point of receiving into the lab to archiving. You'll play a key role in ensuring product quality and compliance across domestic and international operations. Responsibilities:

  • Receive, collect, and issue documentation for manufactured, packaged, and international products.
  • Coordinate all outside lab testing, including test requirements, pricing, turnaround time, and purchase order issuance.
  • Perform system transactions for release, rejection, expiration dates, heavy metal data entry, and requisition issuance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for international offices regarding release and rejection results.
  • Review incoming Certificates of Analysis and packaging documents for accuracy and issue supporting documentation for shipping.
  • File QC test reports and associated paperwork electronically; maintain logs for African and European markets, heavy metals, and contaminants.
  • Communicate with vendors for timely instrument maintenance, repairs, and annual calibrations.
  • Organize and retrieve QC retain samples from storage locations.
  • Perform daily rotational tasks such as balance calibration, protein tasting, and pH meter calibration.
  • Follow chemical hygiene plans and lab safety practices.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the QC Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and 1–2 years of related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Flexible and collaborative team player.
  • Ability to routinely lift/move up to 25 lbs.
