Position Title: Quality Control Technician (Hourly)
Summary / Objectives:
The Quality Technician is responsible for scheduling and conducting functional tests according to customer requirements. This role requires a solid understanding of Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, Vibration, and Corrosion testing of automotive assemblies. Candidates should be able to start and complete tasks with minimal supervision. The list of roles and responsibilities is not exhaustive, and additional responsibilities may be required as per company needs.
Essential Functions:
- Perform testing on received and manufactured components.
- Calibrate lab equipment.
- Conduct DV, PV, and IP tests based on the yearly plan.
- Complete daily status reports.
- Support incoming tests.
- Repair or schedule repair of lab equipment.
- Assist other inspectors as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- At least 6 months of Quality Control Experience preferred.
- A 2-year degree in a technical field of study required.
- Excellent mechanical abilities.
- Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Ability to develop test schedules and track results.
- Good communication skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Standing for up to 8 hours per day.
- Walking for up to 3 hours per day.
- Frequent bending and reaching with arms forward/above the shoulders.
- Pushing/Pulling up to 20 lbs. for 1 hour per day.
- Ability to stay focused for extended periods.
- Ability to multitask and analyze information to identify problems.
Work Environment:
- Plant work environment with seasonal temperature variations (hotter in summer, cooler in winter).
- Exposure to noise and bright lights.
- Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, and gloves.
