This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys hands-on laboratory and production support and is passionate about food safety, quality compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Onsite – Columbus, GA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (with flexibility for overtime and alternate shifts as needed)
Employment Type: contract-to-hire
Compensation: $22/hr
The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting day-to-day quality operations across production lines. This role ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, batching, and quality systems in alignment with company policies, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities-
Adhere to all health and safety policies, GMPs, and PPE requirements while in laboratory, warehouse, and production areas

Support food safety and food quality programs in accordance with corporate, customer, and regulatory standards (e.g., SQF)

Verify that products meet customer specifications as documented in SAP

Perform chemical and physical analysis on raw materials, finished products, treated water, and other programmed materials

Conduct testing on raw, intermediate, and packaging materials to determine acceptability

Evaluate finished products through audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and packaging integrity

Monitor process control parameters, including seal integrity, closure torque, and seam checks

Stop production and escalate concerns immediately if food safety or quality risks are identified

Accurately document all testing, retesting, and quality checks in a timely manner

Perform analytical testing to qualify ingredient batches prior to production

Conduct routine production line checks at defined intervals

Maintain proper calibration and operation of laboratory equipment

Ensure laboratory cleanliness and audit readiness at all times

Report out-of-specification results to quality leadership

Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; SAP experience preferred

Familiarity with laboratory and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) preferred

Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and precision

Understanding of food safety and quality requirements

Familiarity with SQF, GMP, Six Sigma, and related standards preferred

Ability to read and understand the metric system

Organized, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment

Food or beverage manufacturing laboratory experience preferred

Technical Accuracy: Consistent execution and documentation of quality tests and inspections

Integrity: Commitment to food safety, compliance, and ethical standards

Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing production needs and priorities

Communication: Clear communication with production teams and quality leadership

High School Diploma or equivalent required

1–3 years of quality or laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Must be at least 21 years old in facilities co-packaging alcoholic beverages
