Position Title: Visual Inspection and Packing Operator
Location: Sacramento, CA
Pay rate: $25/HR
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM


About the Role:
The Visual Inspection and Packing Operator plays a critical role in ensuring pharmaceutical products meet defined quality standards before shipment. You will manually inspect products, operate leak testing and packing machines, and assist with sterile manufacturing activities. This position requires strict compliance with company policies, cGMP, regulatory guidelines, and attention to detail to safeguard product integrity and consumer safety. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual visual inspection of filled containers (vials, syringes, cartridges, IV bags) for defects such as volume variation, particulate matter, cosmetic flaws, contamination, and labelling errors
  • Accurately reconcile and segregate acceptable and defective containers; prepare defect libraries and qualification kits for automated inspection machines
  • Operate manual and automatic leak testing machines and packing equipment according to protocols
  • Assist in preparing documentation, including SOPs, batch records, and protocols for operation and maintenance
  • Handle, collect, transport, and store semi-finished and finished products per product and process requirements
  • Prevent cross-contamination and mix-up errors throughout operations
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments to coordinate production needs and support smooth operations
  • Conduct qualification and validation of equipment and production areas per approved protocols
  • Package products with secondary packing materials, ensuring proper sealing, labelling, and completeness per specifications
  • Perform packaging operations (labelling, weighing, printing, verifying batch details, and tertiary packaging)
  • Record details accurately in batch records and process documents as per regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, and quality teams for timely product delivery
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, promptly report hazards or accidents, and maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting/moving products up to 35 kg
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for inspection and packing
  • Strong attention to detail and good eyesight to identify defects or discrepancies
  • Basic understanding of visual inspection and packaging requirements
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical, sterile manufacturing, or similar regulated environment preferred
  • Effective at collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards
