Quality Lab Technician

Schedule: Mon- Fri Onsite Overview

As a key part of the Quality team, you will be involved in sample receipt, logging, review, and storage. We're looking for someone flexible, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic with a “can-do” attitude! Responsibilities

  • Routine Product Evaluation and Release (20%)
  • Set up daily sensory sessions on commercial products and log results
  • Test samples for texture and viscosity
  • Review routine documentation for acceptability
  • Escalate any out-of-specification results
  • Communicate product releases to cross-functional teams
  • Document Organization and Storage (25%)
  • Maintain and update quality documentation
  • Assist in updating procedures and specifications
  • Ensure completed documentation is checked into the system
  • Sample Receipt, Logging, and Storage (25%)
  • Verify sample arrivals and notify if delayed
  • Organize sample retains and manage offsite storage
  • Maintain sample storage organization
  • Other Sample Evaluation (20%)
  • Track complaint sample receipt
  • Perform sensory testing on retain samples
  • Evaluate samples from shelf-life studies
  • Prepare samples for tastings
  • General Duties (10%)
  • Attend meetings and presentations
  • Participate in company-wide activities
  • Handle administrative tasks (email, calendaring, expense reports) Qualifications
    • Education: BA/BS in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field
    • Experience:
    • Related laboratory experience
    • Food manufacturing and/or QA/QC experience a plus
    • Sensory/organoleptic experience a plus
  • Skills:
  • Proactive approach and strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
