We're seeking a Remote Tax Support Specialist to join our team at one of the largest public sector contact centers.   • 100% remote after first day orientation onsite (must be within 1 hour of Phoenix or Tucson)
  • Competitive pay: $19.00/hr
  • Weekday schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45am to 5:15pm (exact shift provided during interview)
  • Extensive paid training during your first 3 weeks (8:30am to 5:00pm)
  • Opportunity for assignment extension and potential for permanent hire
Key Responsibilities:
  • Professionally handle inbound calls regarding individual and business tax compliance, delinquency, and general information
  • Resolve Tier 1 issues and assist with taxpayer account reviews
  • Verify, gather, and update client information accurately in multiple systems
  • Educate customers on current tax policies and online resources
  • Submit requests and set up payment arrangements as needed
  • Participate in team engagement activities and meet performance expectations
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year recent, consecutive experience in a high-volume call center (finance, banking, insurance, telecommunications preferred—not switchboard/dispatch)
  • Previous two positions should each be at least one consecutive year in a fast-paced call center, with this experience being recent
  • National call center experience in finance/banking, insurance, or telecommunications REQUIRED (not technical support roles)
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Basic math competency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Ability to retain knowledge and demonstrate creative problem solving
  • Spanish-speaking candidates encouraged to apply
Requirements:
  • Must reside within 1 hour of Phoenix or Tucson
  • Able to attend first day, in-person orientation and transport equipment (not via public transportation)
  • Reliable, hardwired internet connection
  • Available for flexible scheduling and critical attendance during 3-week training period
  • Pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and Arizona tax filing records check
  • Short stint work history or switchboard/dispatch backgrounds are not considered
