Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair gas sample systems, sample valves, and other components of analytical equipment
  • Experience operating and maintaining analyzers, including Agilent GC and GC MassSpec, Valmet Maxum II GC, Oxymat 6, Thermo Mass Spec, Extrel Mass Spec.
  • Bachelor degree graduate
Responsibilities
  • Maintain lab safety, housekeeping, inventory, and security
  • Run and process routine gas chromatography (GC) samples accurately and efficiently, as well as non-routine samples for research and method development
  • Troubleshoot, maintenance, and repair analyzer sample systems, sample valves, and other analytical equipment components
  • Monitor analyzer performance, identify abnormal conditions or measurements, and support overall system optimization
  • Understand the requirements and execute assigned work in accordance with the Site Safety Standards, Data Integrity Assurance Management System (DIAMS) requirements, Work Permit system, Operation Integrity Management System (OIMS)
  • Prepare liquid calibration standards. Conduct calibrations and statistical quality control (SQC), and report any required changes or repairs
  • Handle a wide range of hydrocarbons safely while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures
  • Prioritize and adjust work tasks in response to changing conditions and requirements
  • Provide timely and accurate information, and updates to supervisors, chemists, and engineers
  • Maintain detailed records and update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) as necessary
