Junior Sales / Business Development Representative
Location: Bolingbrook, Illinois (Hybrid Work Schedule)
Salary base of $40-50k plus commission

The Junior Sales / Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities and expanding our client base within the transportation and logistics sector. This entry-level role is ideal for a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow within a dynamic industry. While prior logistics experience is a plus, it is not required. The ideal candidate is driven, confident, and focused on outbound prospecting, relationship building, and client engagement.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively source and pursue new sales leads through cold calling, networking, and market research
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients across multiple transportation modes (truckload, less-than-truckload, retail LTL, etc.)
  • Conduct introductory meetings to assess client needs and present tailored logistics solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized proposals and pricing strategies
  • Track sales activity using CRM software and maintain accurate records of client interactions
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for new business
  • Provide feedback to sales leadership regarding market trends and customer needs
 
Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0–2 years of experience in a sales or client-facing role; logistics/transportation industry experience a strong plus
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented with a strong hunter mentality
  • Comfortable making cold calls and engaging with prospects via phone, email, and in-person meetings
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM experience a plus
 

Compensation: $40,000 – $50,000 base salary plus commission potential
