Job Title: Sample Management Specialist
Location: Lafayette, IN
Rate: $20/hr. or $41,600 annual equivalent + full benefits (PTO, federal holidays, medical/dental/health insurance, etc.)
Job Overview:
We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized person to join our lab team as a Sample Management Specialist. In this role, you'll help receive, label, track, and send out samples that come into our lab. You'll work closely with other teams to make sure samples are handled properly and everything is logged accurately.
What You'll Do:
- Receive and unpack samples from clients
- Label and log samples into our tracking system (LIMS)
- Check paperwork for accuracy and report any issues
- Prepare and send out supplies and samples to clients and partners
- Keep sample-related materials organized and stocked
- Track sample movement from arrival to completion
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Communicate clearly with lab teams and clients
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
- Help with special projects and shipments when needed
What We're Looking For:
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting
- Basic computer skills; experience with tracking systems is a plus
- Able to lift and move sample coolers
- Willingness to learn and follow procedures
Nice to Have (but not required):
- Experience in a lab, warehouse, or logistics role
- Familiar with quality control or lab systems
- Degree in a life science field (e.g., biology, chemistry, environmental science)
