Sanitation Technician

Location: Carlisle, PA
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 5:00 AM–5:00 PM • 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule (every other weekend off)
Hourly Rate: $23.40

Position Overview

The Sanitation Technician ensures a clean, safe, and compliant environment within the facility by following the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). This role involves environmental sanitation, basic pest-control support, and general housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, and sanitizing areas throughout the plant.

You'll also assist with chemical inventory and GMP/cleaning supplies while working around and with industrial chemicals (training provided). You will receive equipment training for pallet jacks, hand lifts, man/scissor lifts, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe environment for yourself and others.

  • Complete sanitation tasks according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).

  • Maintain environmental sanitation inside and around the plant.

  • Perform general housekeeping: trash collection, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and area sanitizations.

  • Assist with basic pest-control responsibilities.

  • Manage and track inventory of sanitation chemicals, GMP materials, and cleaning supplies.

  • Comply with GMPs, SOPs, quality standards, and production/housekeeping requirements.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and meet task deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain respectful, clear communication.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • At least 6+ months of work experience in any industry.

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Basic computer and math skills.

  • Willingness to learn, problem-solve, and troubleshoot.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of manufacturing, industrial sanitation, or cleaning experience.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Work with corrosive chemicals (PPE provided).

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions.

  • Ability to work in cold, hot, dusty, or fluctuating temperature zones.

  • Wear all required PPE for extended periods.

  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including some weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
