Scientist
Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Scientist for a long term engagement at one of our Global personal care/consumer product clients in Fort Washington, PA.
The role is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation (PTO), and holidays, 401K, and annual performance reviews.

Pay is $38.00-$40.00 an hour

The Scientist is tasked with carrying out method development, validation, and interpretation of analytical methods for testing consumer products, as well as providing critical investigational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate chromatography and mass spectrometry methods for the analysis of consumer health products across various types of dosage forms such as tablets, liquids, semisolids and engineered products.
- Interpret complex analytical data and provide detailed reports and presentations to cross-functional teams.
- Lead critical investigations into analytical issues, troubleshooting instrumentation, and developing solutions to support project timelines.
- Conduct testing for trace level impurities analysis, identify impurities, and elucidate structures using appropriate orthogonal techniques.
- Collaborate with chemists, and other scientists to design experiments and integrate data into broader research and development efforts.
- Maintain and operate analytical instruments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, which may include the preparation of documentation for regulatory submission and responses to regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. (1-3 years), MS (3-5 years) or BS (5 to 8 years), in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field experience in the consumer product, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with analytical instruments such as HPLC, UPLC, Gas Chromatography, FTIR, Mass Spectrometry including method development, validation, and data interpretation is required.
- Experience in trace analysis such as Nitrosamines are preferred.
- Knowledge in structure elucidation, statistical analysis, data modeling tools are preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct thorough investigations into analytical challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and effectively.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively in a team environment and contributing to cross-functional projects.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines (e.g., FDA, ICH, ISO) related to analytical method development and validation.
- Experience mentoring and training junior scientists is highly desirable.
