Shipping Receiving Operator Entry-US

Location: 

Traverse City, MI, US
Monday Thru Friday 8am-4:30pm , Pay $19 per hr to start.

Shipping & Receiving 

Summary:

Execute final packaging and Transfer material from work in process to finished goods using SAP goods receipt transaction

Create delivery notes in SAP distribution of products to the appropriate destination.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and prepare orders and other non-production items for shipping
  • Assemble shipping boxes and pack appropriately
  •  
  • Ship as specified on delivery notes to Kennametal distribution centers and directly to customers using UPS software or FedEx labels
  • Verify quantity shipped on delivery notes as orders are packed 
  • Secure pallets of reusable totes for shipment at the end of the day
  • Prepare bill of lading for shipment to North American Distribution Center
  • Process post goods issue in SAP at the end of each day
  • Distribute paperwork from day's shipments
  • Find tracking numbers when requested
  • Work with planners to resolve problems
  • Perform other duties as requested by your Supervisor / Manager

 

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalency
  • 1 – 3 years of shipping/warehouse experience, preferred
  • Able to do basic math and basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to use a personal computer and various software such as SAP MII, Microsoft office, access Kennametal Intranet and QMS systems 
  • Must be able to read and interpret SAP screens, such as MD04 and MB51
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow operating procedures
  • Ability to utilize UPS software to prepare UPS shipments
  • Ability to organize & file paperwork
  • Ability to communicate in person and via phone 
  • Awareness of domestic and international shipping requirements
  • Ability to operate dock plate/lock mechanisms, walk-behind powered industrial truck, operate a scissor lift, operate paper feeder
