Description

Shipping & Receiving Worker / Repair Technician
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay: $23/hour
Assignment Length: 1–3 months

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Repair Technician / Shipping Coordinator to support our Factory Service Center. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role combines shipping and receiving responsibilities with basic mechanical/electrical repair work on Milwaukee products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced service environment.

Key Responsibilities Shipping & Receiving
  • Perform daily shipping and receiving tasks according to established procedures.

  • Receive, log, and track incoming units, parts, and accessories for repair, service, or stock.

  • Visually inspect incoming goods and route them appropriately.

  • Pick, pack, and prepare repair orders for customer shipment.

  • Prepare shipping documents and calculate shipping charges.

  • Load/unload trucks and operate material-handling equipment.

Repair & Service
  • Disassemble units, diagnose issues, and replace worn or defective parts.

  • Perform inspections and determine repair feasibility.

  • Record parts usage and provide data for billing and warranty documentation.

  • Identify and report irregularities or defective materials.

  • Conduct electrical and mechanical tests to ensure product quality.

  • Work from part sheets, specifications, and technical drawings.

Operations Support
  • Assist with sales and service counter activities.

  • Pull parts from inventory and support counter transactions.

  • Handle phone inquiries, place orders, log incoming tools, and assist walk-in customers.

  • Support inventory counts and general branch operations.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 1–2 years of electrical or mechanical repair experience preferred.

  • 2–3 years of customer service experience preferred.

  • At least 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, or related counter operations preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver materials up to 300 lbs.

  • Strong communication skills and understanding of branch market needs.

  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
