Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Nashville, TN)
Client that bring imagination to life is currently hiring two Sr. Mechanical Engineers. Positions are Contracts without end dates (Urgent need, a Contractor can be hired quickly. The right person will be groomed for a Direct Hire).
*Sr. Mechanical Engineer (7-16 years minimum)- Solidworks, Engineering Degree.
* Function as true partner with internal creative and manufacturing team(s) to make one of a kind, industry leading animatronic characters (passion for industry).
* Someone creative who loves to tinker.
* Solid background creating 3-D parametric solid part models, assemblies and fabrication drawings of complex electromechanical robotic systems.
* Ability to lead mechanical design review presentations.
*Mechanical Engineer needed to work in a highly creative team environment, developing one of a kind characters for the themed entertainment industry.
Responsible for acting as a Leader within the mechanical engineering group, including coordinating work processes and resource management within a specific project team. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will create mechanical designs on multiple systems from concept to commissioning. This includes mechanical design with electromechanical servos as well as pneumatic and hydraulic actuators. Partnering with the internal creative and manufacturing teams as well as our electrical team to produce One of a kind, industry leading animatronic characters.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
*Creating 3-D parametric solid part models, assemblies and fabrication drawings of complex electromechanical robotic systems.
*Lead mechanical design review prestations.
*Read and understand customer and Animax Designs functional specifications for the project.
*Create and manage Bill of Materials and all other associated documentation.
*Perform FEA and RBD (Rigid Body Dynamics) to client and internal standards.
*Assist the Project Manager with schedule and budget management.
*Manage quoting to out-source part vendors
*Travel as needed to install and commission animated figure at client installation sight.
*Perform other duties as assigned
*BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering discipline.
*7 to 16 years of relevant work experience.
*Advanced experience in 3-D Cad software preferably Solid Works.
*Experience with document control systems (PDM).
*Knowledge modern manufacturing practices.
*Thorough understanding GD&T.
*Strong math skills.
*Effective communication, both written and verbal.
*Ability to work with and lead others within a collaborative team environment.
*Proficient using Microsoft Office Suites.
*Able to manage project tasks effectively to meet schedule milestones.
