Start-Up Discipline Specialist, Sabine Pass - Texas
Kelly Services is seeking a Start-Up Discipline Specialist for one of our top clients.
Duration: 1 Year
Type: Contract W2
Pay Rate: $95-100/hr. (W2)
Interview Process: Virtual or Onsite
MAIN FUNCTIONS
- (Rotating Machinery, Electrical, Process, Document Control Services (DCS), Instrument) focus on field execution of the start-up activities.
- The role is characterized by:
- Strong technical skills within the specified discipline (e.g., Rotating Machinery Electrical, Process, Instrumentation).
- Collaboration with the Project Team, Affiliate Operations, and Contractor to ensure requirements for start-up activities and continuous operations are clearly understood and adhered to.
- Detailed knowledge of operating facilities and applicable processes to put in place to manage risk
- Leadership to ensure project priorities of safety, quality, and schedule are achieved.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- During commissioning phase, lead to execute dynamic commissioning of system / facilities in the field with non-Hydrocarbon fluid coordinating with Commissioning Contractors & Vendors as necessary
- During start-up phase, responsible to execute startup of system / facilities in the field with Hydrocarbon fluid with Vendors as necessary
- In addition to all Level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, Level 3.
- Provide input and support in the development of Performance Testing procedures and support during the Performance Testing execution.
- Work with the Operations & Project planning team to ensure that commissioning and start-up schedules are aligned.
- Interface with other specialists, e.g. ETC, vendors, laboratory, to resolve start-up issues associated within their specific area.
- Participate in systems walk downs and punch list generation.
- Coordinate/support start-up execution activities and lead trouble shooting activities during start-up and early operation.
- Monitor facility performance during start-up and early operation.
- Monitor testing activities and associated procedures occurring post start-up and during early operations period for each specific area.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience as a minimum as a start-up operator in the field
- Utilities, downstream olefins, Petrochemical or LNG Export Project experience during start-up phase.
- Previous experience in a closely related position
- Discipline appropriate certification(s) or equivalent professional experience
- Proficient in Work Management Systems
- Effective communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps
- Team Player; exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom the person may have no direct authority and willingness to assist others
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
- Knowledgeable of Project Completions activities and typical commissioning practices including typical Systems Completion Database software (e.g., WinPCS, MC+, CoConsole, Orbit)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
