STORAGE FACILITY COORDINATOR ASSISTANT
POSITION SUMMARY
The Storage Facility Coordinator Assistant is staffed through the Museum's staffing partner, Kelly Services, with the location of assignment being the Corning Museum of Glass (“Museum”). The position is on site, 30+ hours per week, and is normally scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM through 4:30 PM, though flexibility in availability is necessary. The position will report to the Museum's Manager, Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving.
The Storage Facility Coordinator Assistant provides assistance and coordination of daily operation of the off-site Retail Storage Facility of the Museum, receives merchandise from external carriers, prepares merchandise, processes transfer requests and participates in periodic cycle counts and physical inventory of merchandise. With current OSHA forklift certification, regularly operates all of the Storage Facility power trucks to perform daily responsibilities.
The position provides support to the Storage Facility Coordinator as needed and acts as backup during absences. As a Storage Facility key holder, acts as on-site liaison with shippers and other vendors, assists with coordination of appropriate staff to ensure internal and external needs are met, and works alongside the team to receive and prepare merchandise.
Responsibilities (Essential functions denoted with *)
Shipping and Receiving
- Load/unload palletized merchandise, materials and supplies to/from trailers to maximize capacity.*
- Communicate all receiving issues appropriately.*
- Assist in organizing and prioritizing merchandise for handling; maintain assigned inventory locations, including effective signage.*
- Assist in preparing merchandise for internal retail transfer per transfer request documentation.*
- Approve transfer shipments as needed.*
Coordinator (Assistance provided as needed)
- As key holder, open and close the Facility.*
- Assist as onsite liaison with shippers, storage contractors and service vendors.*
- Assist in scheduling all shipment trucks.*
- Assist in coordinating all Storage Facility shipping, receiving and operations staff to meet internal and external requirements.*
- Provide orientation and training to others.*
- Coordinate, prioritize, oversee and perform ticketing of merchandise.*
- Assist in perpetual (cycle count) and annual physical inventories; communicate issues appropriately.*
- Assist in inputting of receiving and transfer data into POS system per process, file all necessary paperwork and communicate receiving information appropriately.*
- Handle incoming phone calls.*

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a similar role.
- Current OSHA certification for forklift operation required.

- Work with people from a variety of cultures; maintain an appropriate voice for diverse audiences.
- Process multiple transactions and tasks at a time under the pressure of deadlines.
- Work independently and as part of a team; strong collaboration skills.
- Some weekends, evenings and holidays required; flexibility in hours necessary.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is regularly required to operate/use equipment, communicate, and detect/distinguish. The individual is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move about, and reach for up to 8 hours a day. The individual is occasionally required to ascend/descend and position oneself. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish color and adjust focus.
The individual is required to move/transport up to 50 pounds.
The work environment is frequently indoor and both climate and not climate controlled (warehouse environment), working near moving mechanical parts, and working in high and precarious places. The work environment is occasionally near odors, fumes and airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The individual shall be fully acquainted with and comply with all safety policies and procedures of the Corning Museum of Glass.

RATE
$21.50 - $22.00 per hour
