Job Title: Technician, Analytical Development
Location: Houston, TX metro area
Pay Rate: $27-30/hr.
Duration: 6 month contract

Position Overview:
Reporting into the Sr. Scientist, Analytical Development, the Technician, Analytical Development plays a critical role in ensuring analytical work is executed consistent with product development timelines for our product pipeline. The candidate will perform routine sample testing according to standard operating procedures to support Process Development activities and process transfer to manufacturing.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Assist molecular biology team to support our growing pipeline under the direction of the Senior Scientist
- Perform routine assays for the characterization, in-process monitoring, and stability testing of products in development. This will include, but is not limited to, ddPCR titer assays, qPCR assays for residual host cell or plasmid DNA, alkaline DNA gels, and other assays as required by the increasing regulatory requirements for gene therapy products.
- Assist in the preparation and procurement of raw materials, consumables, inventory control as well as cleaning and waste disposal to support analytical development operations.
- Maintain responsible laboratory protocols, data capture, lab notebooks, and/or computer detected records.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in academic lab setting or the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge Basic understanding of bioprocessing, assay execution and troubleshooting are desirable.
- Skills Prior experience in ddPCR and/or qPCR is desirable.
- Demonstrated strong ability in following and executing standard operating procedures, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team structure. Holds self and others accountable for achieving collective goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with strong documentation and coordination practices.
- A basic knowledge of Microsoft-based computer programs is required.
- Working Conditions Majority of the work is done in a laboratory.
