Kelly Services is hiring an Upholstery Technician III to work with Gulfstream, a leading aircraft manufacturer, at GAC Savannah, GA (31408). This role offers hands-on aerospace experience in a team-oriented production environment with a 12-month contract.

Pay: $28.75/hour
Schedule: Full-time, 2nd shift, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Contract: 12 months
Location: Savannah, GA 31408
Requirement: Valid driver's license

Key responsibilities:

• Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various assemblies and subassemblies.

• Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet engineering requirements.

• Sew, fabricate, and install covers for all styles of aircraft interior panels while meeting safety, quality, and productivity goals.

• Use the material tracking system (Corridor) to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.

• Cut and install advanced custom design carpets with unique patterns according to design specifications.

• Accept Lead responsibilities as needed, delegating tasks and overseeing projects.

• Conduct safety audits and assist team members in safety procedures.

• Maintain shop equipment and associated JSAs; comply with Safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies.

• Mentor and train less experienced technicians, ensuring tasks are completed safely and accurately.

• Assist with process improvements to reduce material costs, cycle time, and labor hours using Lean Six Sigma tools.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 4 years of upholstery experience, including at least 2 years in aircraft upholstery or 6 years in commercial upholstery.

• Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes, products, and/or carpet installation.

• Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

• Computer literate.

• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 40 lbs.
