Job Description: Warehouse Maintenance/Cleanup (WH Janitor)
Position:
Warehouse Janitor – 1 position
Summary:
Responsible for maintaining general warehouse cleanliness and organization. Primary duties include moving pallets, operating the floor scrubber, shredding and banding cardboard, and stacking empty pallets. General Duties:
- Remove empty pallets from locations and place in accumulation areas sorted by pallet size
- Shred cardboard materials daily for packaging use
- Operate floor scrubbers (ride-on and walk-behind) to maintain clean warehouse floors
- Sort and dispose of damaged materials in recycling containers/bins
- Notify management when trash compactor is full
- Remove and stack empty Komyo crates in designated storage area
- Destroy parts to render unusable
- Perform battery maintenance for MHE (Material Handling Equipment); water batteries as needed
- Stock packing boxes in packing and storage areas; remove empty boxes from mezzanine/warehouse
- Dust and clean warehouse areas
- Sweep and clean outside dock area as needed
- Clean skylights once every 6 months
- Address spills, leaks, and overflow promptly
- Strap crates/pallets for shipping to hubs
- Create cardboard bales for recycling
- Empty trash receptacles regularly
- Load empty pallets onto pallet trucks
- Operate MHE safely
- Break down and collect Gaylord boxes as required
- Fill water dispensers as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Legible handwriting skills
- Capacity to perform repetitive work efficiently
- Knowledge of safety procedures and requirements; machine operation certification preferred
- Accurate counting abilities
- Proficiency in handling materials using arm and hand movements
