Description

The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Miami Miller school of Medicine, in Miami, Florida, invites applicants for a full-time, Clinician-Educator track position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Didactic/clinical teaching and supervision of OMFS residents
  • This position will require teaching of students in both junior and senior elective programs as sponsored by this Division within the students' surgical experience
  • Provide direct patient care as part of the faculty practice - including on-call coverage, participation in research, and other collaborative activities.
  • Participate in international, national, regional, and local activities within the health care industry
  • Participate in Oral Surgery Service and residency training at the VAMC.
  • Participate in key activities for the Department of Surgery as agreed upon with the Division Chief
  • Will be responsible for clinical care in all aspects of oral maxillofacial surgery as well as working collaboratively with the other physicians in the division.
  • Will be involved in resident supervision both at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System and the Miami Veteran's Administration Hospital.
  • This individual will also be responsible for pursuing protocols to fund experiments under his/her supervision
  • Documents all services in patient medical records
  • Comply to Departmental Policy & Procedures & Hospital Bylaws

Required Experience:

  • Must have completed a CODA-accredited advanced education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Must have completed fellowship training in Head and Neck and Microvascular surgery
  • Must be board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), or be eligible for Board certification.
  • Must have experience in broad scope oral and maxillofacial surgery.

In addition, candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applicants are also required to have an MD and DDS or DMD and be licensed to practice dentistry and medicine in a state, territory or commonwealth of the United States.
