Job Summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Production Control / Planning Manager in our Fort Walton Beach, FL office to coordinate multi-project schedules within individual product lines.

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze material and program reports to understand issues and create action plans
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the planners and coordinators
  • Create and maintain special reports
  • Interface with production and engineering to understand and resolve issues
  • Enforce company and department policies and procedures
  • Monitor metrics and take action as appropriate
  • Actively involved in program closure activities
  • Communicate and clarify departmental goals and metrics
  • Responsible for ensuring monthly budgets are not exceeded, takes action to realign to plan if budgets are exceeded
  • Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or other relevant area and 5+ years experience demonstrated experience in high technology, aerospace or defense (relevant experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Strong understanding of both MRP & Pull Systems and ability to connect the two
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing systems
  • Proven ability to drive execution
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures
  • Demonstrated management skills, particularly “influence management” and “conflict resolution”
  • Experience throughout the product lifecycle from New Product Introduction through obsolescence to include:  generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, strategic supplier selection, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and DoD, ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFAR regulations
  • Strong customer interface skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, program reviews, scheduling and budget control
  • Must have a successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense supply chain activities
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in an assembly environment preferred
  • Greenbelt or above preferred
  • Costpoint experience preferred
