Description

 

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Receiver/Material Handler performs receiving activities related to all materials purchased.  The Receiver/Material handler loads, unloads and moves materials within plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite and assembles and issues component kits to support product manufacturers.

 

As a Receiver/Material Handler, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Receives products, components into ERP system, ensuring accuracy and conformance to purchase order requirements
  • Counts, weighs, and records materials moved or handled in an ERP system
  • Attaches tags or labels to materials or otherwise marks information
  • Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
  • Opens containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
  • Conveys materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, Forklift, or other device
  • Works under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

  • Maintain forklift certification
  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • Good understanding of MRP systems
  • Effective computer skills including Excel and Word
