Job Summary

The Credentialed Trainer is responsible for delivering effective clinical and/or business information training and go-live support to enhance the delivery of quality patient care across the Lexington Medical Center Network of Care. The credentialed trainer assists with validation, maintains accurate documentation of training activities, and uses training tools which support the education of system end users, measure user competency, and effectiveness of the training program. This position requires successful credentialing within 6 weeks of onboarding, flexible work hours - including but not limited to weekends - to meet the needs of the user community, the ability to work independently with limited supervision, and frequent travel to multiple locations within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 Year of experience in a healthcare or related environment
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, training applications, and use of automated office equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Completes an intense credentialing program utilizing the "teach back" methodology within 6 weeks, including:
    • Minimum score of 85% of competency exam.
    • Highly successful presentation of an assigned training topic in front of a live, credentialing panel. (The exam and presentation will assess the trainer's knowledge of the applications, workflows, policies and procedures, adult education best practices, troubleshooting, as well as presentation and soft skills).
  • Delivers training on clinical and/or business information systems functionality as well as adopted workflows.
  • Provides onsite, go live support in an engaged, visible, professional manner.
  • Validates and uses training tools and materials, measures user competency and effectiveness of the training program as well as maintains accurate documentation of training activities.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of the curriculum to identify and contribute to quality improvements with curriculum authors.
  • Develops a strong understanding of the EHR application(s) as implemented at LMC.
  • Arrives prior to scheduled training class to ensure the readiness of training environment including training systems, rooms, devices, and materials.
  • Administers competency assessments.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Completes and maintains accurate documentation of training activities including assisting with records in the learning management system.
  • Incorporates principles of Adult Learning in training delivery.
  • Efficiently incorporates curriculum updates and adapts training delivery based on student and training team feedback.
  • Participates in regular, day-to-day communication with project teams identifying concerns to ensure the training aligns with organizational goals.
  • Completes project tasks and provides unsolicited status updates within defined timelines.
  • Serve as a change agent to promote, effect, and support change in adopted workflows and best practice behaviors related to system implementations (documentation at the point of care, on-line review of information, etc.).
  • Adheres to LMC Service Expectations as demonstrated through positive patient experiences and interactions with staff.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
