Job Summary

Under the general direction of Medical Staff Services management, advises, supports, and assists in the use of data through advanced statistical analysis, data reporting and data visualization techniques, creates solutions that enable enhanced operational efficiency and system functionality. Will also manage projects in support of the department to leverage and synthesize large volume and variety of data in order to improve decision points and outcomes. Establishes and maintains database and related application security.  

The position requires organization, professional demeanor, sense of urgency, ability to multitask and prioritize, attention to detail as well as the ability to appropriately manage confidential information.  Works with moderate supervision/guidance, however, is accountable for individual results and impact on team. 
 

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of IT experience & 2 years MD-Staff credentialing system experience, which may be concurrent.
Substitutable Education & Experience: A High School Diploma with 5 years of IT experience & 2 years of experience with MD-Staff can be substituted for the following: 

A Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field with 2 years of related experience working in database management and analysis;

An Associate's Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field with 5 years of related experience working in database management and analysis.

Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Experience with database querying languages such as SQL; Experience with MD-Staff credentialing system.

Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation; 

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data entry.
 

Essential Functions
  • Utilizes and analyzes data in various approaches including but not limited to; workflow assessments, best practice evaluations and implementation, operational efficiency evaluations, and performance reporting metrics.
  • Provides technical and application support to end-users.   
  • Enters data into appropriate databases to support data collection and analysis process.
  • Runs queries for auditing and verification of accurate information.  Ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity in the credentialing system. Identify potential errors and works with appropriate parties to ensure data is validated and reliable.  Ensure conformance with hospital policies and interdepartmental performance standards.  
  • Works closely with Medical Staff Services and Quality to identify and design future needs and workflow processes.  Develops quality control monitors.  
  • Maintains credentialing system templates, privileges, lookup tables, merge/pronto, etc… Design, configure, and manage user security.
  • Dispatches MD-Staff provider applications and assigns appropriately.  Clearly communicates instructions and credentialing coordinator information. Updates Aiva cycles and reappointment communications/coordinator assignments
  • Maintains application status reporting (Hospital, ASC, and Ambulatory).
  • FPPE/OPPE data reporting and tracking.  Peer Review (Midas reports/event) tracking and notifications.
  • Completes SER templates, Access IS, and Peoplesoft for all providers.  
  • Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports including but not limited to: Monthly STATS report, annual KEPRO reporting, JAR reporting.
  • DNV Survey file collections/preparations.    
     
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Board packet preparations for all governing bodies. 
  • Inservice training and MD-Staff educational sessions. Develop standard operating procedures, policies, and workflows.  Develop training manuals, in-house diagrams, and flow charts according to department/industry standards.  
  • Stays abreast of best practices regarding methods of statistical analysis, data management, and databases.  Makes recommendations on system enhancements and workflow.
  • Stays cognizant of current challenges and trends in assigned field and anticipates how these changes impact past, current, and future operations. 
  • Assists with planning and implementation of version and service release updates.  
  • Assist with implementation of interfaces requiring database updates or extracts. 
  • Identification and resolution of software and hardware problems as it relates to operational performance and system upgrades. 
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data to draw conclusions and/or make recommendations that support business objectives and optimize operations.
  • Participate in and support project and team goals, objectives, and timelines working with a sense of urgency and accuracy.  
  • Provides customer service to all internal and external customers/providers. 
  • Recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes, and /or major variations from established policy.  
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
