Title and Summary

Biz Ops Engineer, Launch Program 2026 - United States This role is not eligible for Mastercard's work authorization sponsorship. As such, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, now as well as in the future, without employer sponsorship. For example, students or recent graduates in the United States on an F1 visa (including those with CPT or OPT authorization) are not eligible for this role.

About the Team
Mastercard's Business Operations (BizOps) teams are the stewards for production readiness for the platform, by managing, mitigating, or elevating awareness of the business risk of all customer interactions with Mastercard's technology platforms. We accomplish this by linking every technology recommendation with a business value, continuously monitoring platform health indicators, and elevating awareness when one of our main objectives is at risk.
Within BizOps, there are two primary roles:
- Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) support developers during the build phase by applying software run principles such as operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring. They focus on creating fault-tolerant, scalable products and lead triage and root cause analysis through blameless post-mortems.
- Service Management Reliability Engineers (SMREs) develop documentation, analyze and improve processes, and drive service management strategies. They enable proactive lifecycle engagement, ensure tool reliability and service level objectives, and implement automated solutions. SMREs also support compliance and often serve in federated roles like change, incident, or problem managers, communication leads, and program managers.

Launch Program
The Launch program is a development program that is supplemental to the role and is designed to help you transition from being a student to being a Mastercard employee. In this program, you will participate in:
- Four-day orientation focused on getting to know Mastercard, building your skills, and be a force for good (Mastercard's culture)
- Professional skills workshops
- Launch Innovation Week
- Social impact – pro bono team challenge
- Global Volunteer Challenge

Role Description
As a BizOps Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
- React: the service management functions that are largely unplanned but help oversee our platforms and return to service when issues arise
- Protect: our service readiness activities, aimed at preventing production issues for our programs
- Enable: the automation activities at enable programs to run faster and flawlessly


Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree graduating between Winter 2025 – Spring 2026.
- A strong focus and interest in technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or another related field)
- Familiarity with agile software development; exposure to application development lifecycles and how it integrates with operations
- Basic understanding of infrastructure, middleware, ITSM fundamentals, database, project management
- Experience with Java, SQL, Python, Linux preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
