Title and Summary
Director, Learning & Development Consultant, Asia Pacific At Mastercard, our Learning & Development (L&D) organization plays a vital role in empowering our people to grow, lead, and thrive. From onboarding to skill development and leadership development, we support every stage of the employee journey with impactful learning experiences.We are seeking a Director, Asia Pacific Learning Consultant to lead and drive our L&D strategy across the Asia Pacific region – Mastercard's largest and most diverse employee base globally. Based in Malaysia, this role serves as the key bridge between our global L&D team and regional business needs. You will shape and deliver a cohesive learning strategy that is locally relevant, scalable, and aligned with Mastercard's global vision.

Responsibilities:
• Strategic partnership and planning:
• Collaborate with People & Capability Business Partners (PBPs), Talent Consultants, Business Stakeholders, and other P&C Stakeholders (e.g. Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition) to understand business priorities and skill needs across Asia Pacific
• Align regional learning needs with globally identified priorities to develop and execute a cohesive AP Learning & Development strategy and plan
• Stay attuned to local market dynamics, cultural nuances, and workforce trends to inform and influence global L&D strategies
• Regional engagement and activation:
• Partner with Communications, Workplace Experience, and PBPs to design and implement effective go-to-market strategies for learning initiatives
• Drive awareness, engagement, and adoption of learning programs through tailored communication and activation plans
• Serve as the primary point of contact for learning inquiries, consultations, and escalations within the region
• Consulting and advisory
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and HR stakeholders on performance and capability development interventions
• Recommend scalable learning solutions that leverage existing global assets while ensuring local relevance and impact
• Facilitate needs assessments and learning diagnostics to identify gaps and opportunities
• Portfolio and program management
• Maintain deep knowledge of the global L&D portfolio, including offerings by job family, leadership level, and functional area
• Ensure regional alignment and integration of global programs, adapting them as needed for cultural and market fit
• Monitor and report on program engagement, effectiveness and business impact through regular updates and dashboards
• Stakeholder management and influence
• Build strong relationships across the region to foster collaboration and shared ownership of learning outcomes
• Represent the L&D function in regional forums, leadership meetings, and cross-functional initiatives
• Continuous improvement and innovation
• Stay current on learning trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the regional learning experience
• Identify opportunities to pilot innovative approaches or tools in the region that could scale globally
Qualifications:
• Leadership experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, or HR, with a strong regional or global scope
• Proven experience in consulting with senior stakeholders and translating business needs into learning strategies
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing regional learning strategies that align with global frameworks
• Experience working in multinational organizations and navigating matrixed environments
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance consulting
• Familiarity with learning technologies, platforms, and digital learning trends
• Experience managing change and transformation initiatives through learning
• Fluency in English; additional Asian language(s) is a plus
• As this role serves a geographically and culturally diverse employee base, experience in working with global teams and understanding cultural sensitivities is critical. Candidates will be expected to work flexibly and travel as required to offices in all regions in order to be fully effective in this position.
