Director Tech Regulatory Execution - India Overview
Program Controls, Operations, & Modernization (ProCOM)
The work of this team focuses on the programs and products of Mastercard, ensuring we are running Mastercard Good technology. We also support the growing regulatory landscape while maintaining our site reliability engineering (SRE) and modernization standards. The position is being opened within the Technology Regulatory Execution team whose objective is to ensure the seamless execution of regulations, fostering compliance, innovation, and #mastercardgood standards. We are committed to empowering our stakeholders by providing clear guidance, robust practices, and effective solutions that navigate the complexities of the regulatory landscape. Through collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, we strive to build a secure, compliant, and forward-thinking technological environment.
Role
The Tech Regulatory Execution – Director for India and South Asia provides crucial technology consulting, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering innovation. They partner with business teams to offer tech leadership, manage technology regulatory projects, and collaborate with global teams to solve business and regulatory issues, address business and regulatory challenges, and align with business goals.
• Staying abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes by tracking changes in laws, policies, and guidelines from regulatory bodies.
• Represent Mastercard in regulatory inquiries and examinations
• Collect market information on prospective customers and the payment systems market in general while keeping the division advised and informed regarding matters and developments within India, which may be of reasonable interest or concern to the division
• Effectively manage risks and interdependencies between projects by developing comprehensive plans, identifying potential risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure alignment and seamless execution. Revise internal policies and procedures to align with new regulations.
• Provide technical and business knowledge in the payments environment to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, staying updated with the latest developments to enhance offerings.
• Leverage Mastercard technology capabilities to support innovative solutions for business and regulatory challenges, understanding the full spectrum of resources available.
• Monitoring Regulatory Changes: Stay updated on evolving regulations and assess their impact on existing systems.
• Collaboration Across Departments: Work with teams like Compliance, Legal, and IT to align technology solutions with regulatory needs.
• Work with financial institutions on regulatory compliance matters such as advising on regulatory definitions and interpretations, performing quality reviews of existing risk processes and controls, and developing relevant regulatory risk processes and controls to help manage the institutions' regulatory obligations
• Preparing and submitting required compliance reports to regulatory agencies according to established deadlines (Eg: 6 Hours Issue Reporting)
• Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks
• Conduct training sessions for employees on relevant regulatory requirements and the controls to utilize data for reporting needs

• Strong understanding of product development methodologies, principles, theories, and concepts.
• Organized with expert facilitation skills in fluid environments influenced by local market conditions and evolving regulations.
• Project management experience in high-focus, risk technology projects.
• Thrive in fast-paced settings. High-energy, can-do attitude, strong ownership, and desire to succeed with analytical, technical, and strategic skills. Experience in technology and regulatory compliance within the payments industry. Ability to translate technical information into business terms and vice versa.
• Effectively collaborate in a geographically distributed team and organization.
• Navigate complex relationships with persuasive presence and effectively communicate between technology and business stakeholders.
