Title and Summary
Lead Platform Architect Overview:Does building exciting platforms that will enable our customers across the world with faster, smarter and more effective solutions excite you? We are looking for a Platforms Architect that will work with our teams around the world to improve system reliability, improve operations and build strong partnerships with key stakeholder teams to own, monitor and maintain our services and infrastructure.
The Distributed Platforms team is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, backup and support of multiple on-premise and cloud hosted data centers. In this role, you will help lead key business projects, adapting and architecting our infrastructure to support on-premise deployments of our product. Role:
- Installing, administering, and monitoring physical and virtual infrastructure in both local and remote geographies in a mixed Windows and Linux operating system environment
- Automation of commonly performed tasks, using scripting and query languages such as Bash, Powershell or SQL
- You take part in on-call as part of our ‘you build it, you run it' philosophy. This includes improving operations, such as by adding metrics or building dashboards.
- Develop strong partnerships with product teams to understand and proactively address future technology needs and current developer pain points.
- Own, monitor, and maintain our development teams' backend services and infrastructure.
- Participate in incident response, diagnosis, and follow-up on system outages or alerts across the infrastructure
- Increase developer productivity by building innovative tools that reduce maintenance overhead.
About You:
- Previous experience maintaining and configuring infrastructure as a System, Platform or DevOps Engineer
- Comfortable automating tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Powershell
- Demonstrated independent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work with teammates across a worldwide distributed team
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience managing either Windows or Linux servers, or both
- Understanding of system deployment and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef or SCCM
- Familiarity with monitoring technologies such as Splunk, Azure Log Analytics or PRTG
- The ideal candidate will have significant experience maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment consisting of a diverse slate of technologies
