Overview
The Sustainable Technology team is looking for a Lead, Platform Engineering, Sustainable Technology to help drive Mastercard's sustainability strategy forward by innovating across our global technology infrastructure. This role is ideal for a technologist who is passionate about sustainable impact, highly motivated, intellectually curious, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Scope 3 emissions reduction and sustainability outcomes across the technology stack in colocated data centers, public cloud, and supply-chain are key motivators for this team, and we are looking for someone who shares that vision.

Role
In this impact-driven position, you will:
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in sustainable technology, supporting technology infrastructure, colocated data center, and public cloud teams to reduce energy use and Scope 3 emissions across supply-chain.
• Lead cross-functional program management efforts to identify and implement energy, power, and emissions savings opportunities across infrastructure platforms in co-located and public cloud environment.
• Engage with application and infrastructure platform teams to align with sustainability-focused technology initiatives.
• Collaborate with data science teams to enable activity-based Scope 3 emissions accounting across the technology supply chain through data and process improvement.
• Streamline accurate regulatory reporting frameworks related to data center efficiency across colcated and cloud environments.
• Manage data improvement processes to enhance the accuracy of energy and carbon forecasting.

All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of technology infrastructure operations and platforms; experience in the payments industry is a plus.
• Be skilled in global GHG (greenhouse gas) emission reduction programs and sustainability practices within the technology industry.
• Be capable of collecting and organizing data related to energy use and carbon emissions across the technology stack.
• Be proactive, engaged, and accountable, with a strong ability to build relationships across diverse teams and time zones.
• Be confident in influencing senior leadership through research, data analysis, and high-level communication.
• Be a strong communicator, able to clearly explain technical challenges and sustainability goals.
• Possess business planning, project management, and budget management skills.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Environmental Science.
• Hold sustainability related professional credentials which may include: Accredited Sustainability Advisor (ASA); Certified Data Center Sustainability Professional (CDCSP); Green Software Practitioner; Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP); Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.

O'Fallon, Missouri: $112,000 - $187,000 USD
