Manager, Business Development Overview:

• Our North America Sales organization is seeking to build a diverse strategic and consultative workforce of world-class relationship managers, problem-solvers and technologists. We are pursuing highly motivated individuals who display strong achievement orientation, intellectual curiosity, openness, resilience, diligence, and the ability to effectively marshal resources. We align our team to compete and differentiate on the basis of customer intimacy, product and solution strength, and partnership orientation.

• Mastercard is recruiting talented individuals for a full-time role on the Processors and Community Institutions team within our US Issuers organization, which supports the Sales Team by engaging and closing prospects that either have no relationship or a partial relationship with Mastercard. This will include working with Associations, external payment consultant companies and prospects, developing partnerships, expanding our voice in the market, developing and enhancing our proposals, assisting in negotiating contracts and selling value added services including but not limited to Mastercard Data and Services.

Role:
As a Business Development Sales Support Manager, you will:

• Sales Prospecting - Work closely with the Business Development team to provide critical support to identify, engage and close Community Institution brand relationships. Examples of this could include sending periodic email, generating lead strategies for tier 4 and 5 prospects, updating CRM, following up from webinars, conferences, targeting segments like DPS customers, “Back of Card” or common traits like State Credit Union leagues members.
• Developing new BD Sales materials and strategies – Liaison with Product Architects and Sales team concerning BD materials to identify what is working and could be improved. This includes proposals and contracts with community institutions or payment consultants for more efficient, engaging and technology.
• Develop Exclusive Sales Engagement Strategies – Develop engagement Senior Leader strategies ranging from sending small gifts like Starbucks gift card to grass roots strategies that are regional based and have a feel of exclusivity.
• 3rd Party Engagement Strategies - Develop and manage relationships with Payment Consultants, Associations, and Processing Partners Sales teams to establish a consistent cadence of engagement, education, and partnership with goal to flip brand.
• Cross functional coordination – Work with other departments like Services and others to develop prospecting content.
• Engagement on key Sales projects – Help on projects like building an online digital sales experience, developing “one to many” tools like processor specific strategies like with FIS, Fiserv, etc and develop other tools to make the BD team more efficient.

We are seeking a candidate who is:
• Self-starter, highly organized, collaboration minded, solutions and results driven.
• Comfortable with financial modeling and ambitious to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels including C-suite executives
• Able to coordinate multiple customer contract agreement processes.
• Understanding business and market dynamics, Mastercard's product and service specifications and applications, and your customers' strategies and needs in order to identify opportunities and design tailored solutions which meet the customer's needs.
• Able to converse and provide insightful viewpoints on Mastercard platforms, products and services, explain to customers how they can leverage Mastercard's offerings for their own business needs and communicate complex technological concepts with clarity and conviction.
• Keeping pace with cutting edge technology trends and events that impact Mastercard's platforms, products and services, visualize the “big picture” and understand the interdependencies between related inputs and their implications on current and future business goals/outcomes.
• Ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of sales and account management experience or from working at payment networks, payment processors, community banks, credit unions or payment consultants.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
