Title and Summary

Principal Software Engineering Overview 
• The Cryptographic Security Program consists of a global Mastercard team that designs, builds and supports service platforms that provide cryptographic, key management and EMV certificate management functions utilized by global Mastercard application teams. 
• Cryptographic Security has roadmap plans to re-architect legacy platforms and build new service-oriented platforms that are scalable, highly available, and built with continuous delivery implementations. 
• The Principal will work as an Architect within the Cryptographic Security team and will be responsible for the architecture and design of new platforms, as well as collaborate on the future roadmap of solutions and enhancements. 

Role 
• Proven ability to architect and design complex security solutions that are enterprise grade – highly available, resilient, scalable and “always on” 
• Experience designing for existing and new enterprise shared security services in the Cloud environment 
• Technical leadership of software development engineering feature teams located globally including mentoring resources in junior level and technical lead roles within the feature teams 
• Technical oversight for complex development tasks, including the ability to perform code reviews and complex code development 
• Provide escalated technical support for issues to the software development engineering and operations teams for all owned shared security services platforms 
• Drive the creation and maintenance of the strategic technical roadmaps for all owned shared security service platforms 
• Ability to quickly learn and understand current platforms and environments to effectively architect and design new replacement solutions that meet business and technical requirements 
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions with industry standard cryptographic algorithms - knowing where, how, when to apply them 
• Ability to partner and collaborate with other team architects on solution designs 
• Ability to work independently and self-directed 
• Ability to jump in and help with development tasks as needed. It's important to be both a leader and a contributor.

Primary Job Responsibilities 
• Identify strategic business-building opportunities in products and services that can be offered, developed and implemented to customers
• Coordinate with customers and third parties to develop strategy for, and enhancements to, product offerings
• Responsible for idea generation, concept validation, and business case development for existing product enhancements and new product development surrounding consumer experience
• Responsible for writing and owning the product specifications on new ideas and concepts and working with the functional team on the execution.
• Apply market research and conduct opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts and communicate them to Product Development
• Oversee the planning, development and design of product marketing strategy from product decision through end of life cycle
• Build relationships with product groups and regional teams to garner feedback for development of MasterCard products
• Ensure compliance of Audit Requirements by proactively educating team on Compliance Requirements and Integrating Compliance Requirements in SDLC.

Job Requirements 
• Extensive experience in product management and/or product development in a technical setting.
• Extensive knowledge of product management principles and product development lifecycle
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver global projects working with regional offices.
• Business Acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results to the customer and MasterCard
• Ability to interact and coordinate effectively with internal and external business partners
• Ability to manage budgets or financial results
• Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating within a team environment
• Knowledge of Information Security policies is a plus
• Agile experience preferred
• Experience with IBM Tivoli Security Products a plus
• Experience with User Provisioning Services preferred

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
