Program Manager – Start Path Platform, Foundry

As Fintech continues to be a fast-growing customer segment for MA, the global Start Path team, part of the Mastercard Foundry division, drives Mastercard's position as the partner of choice for fintech startups. The team focuses on opportunities for growth with the segment and on how Mastercard enables the Fintech segment overall.

Operational since 2014, Start Path is Mastercard's program for engaging elite later-stage startups with Mastercard's business and our customers. The Start Path team is agile and highly matrixed with a big vision, working globally to engage the best later-stage startups with the payments ecosystem.

The Manager – Start Path Platform will be a member of the global Fintech Solutions team. Reporting to the Director, Start Path Global Platform, this position will play a critical role in driving the next wave of Mastercard's engagement with the fintech community. Key responsibilities include building program operating models and implementation plans that are fit for scale; managing relationships with fintech partners to ensure their touchpoints with Start Path programs are best in class; and advocating and championing Start Path programs (tracks) to internal and external stakeholders.

The person will also have the opportunity to get involved in startup and partner evaluations and strategy, as well as Start Path startup sponsorship.

The Role

Building program operating models and implementation plans that are fit for scale
▪ Support the operating model for Start Path programs to ensure continuous improvement and ensure core operations are built to scale and succeed in meeting the needs of every Fintech

▪ Design and implement tracking for our initiatives across the regions to ensure the work of the Start Path team is able to demonstrate impact

▪ Own pan-organizational working groups focused on key fintech topics for Mastercard, including the tracking and reporting of overall startup programs performance

▪ Anticipate significant domestic and regional fintech trends while developing and modifying strategies to manage these trends.

Managing relationships with fintech partners to ensure their touchpoints with fintech programs are best in class
▪ Responsible for onboarding partners for Start Path Track and other programs. Design and implement a new efficient and centralized approach that meets our objectives.

Advocating and championing Start Path programs to internal and external stakeholders
▪ Responsible for liaising with partnering teams such as Fintech Solutions, Foundry, and Corporate Development with regard to Marketing and the Start Path Fund, respectively.

▪ Support the core engine of the Start Path Platform and supporting Start Path program Leads and regional Leads, as well as near and far internal or external ecosystems that Start Path can tap into

▪ Responsible for designing and implementing key events that create the rhythm for all Start Path programming with appropriate streamlined logistics and consistent experience for our fintechs

Participate in Start Path programming activities
▪ Work as part of the global Start Path team to source, evaluate, and collaborate with innovative Fintech startups and act as a sponsor to companies participating in the Start Path program.

• Demonstrated strong self-awareness, open to different approaches and ideas, and open to challenging the status quo to drive new business initiatives. Self-motivated, thrives in the ambiguity that comes with a lean and agile team at the forefront of an evolving space

• Possesses a passion for and experience with the startup and Fintech community

• Experience in Project, Platform, or Operations Management at small or large entities with a global focus

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint and Excel; CRM (e.g., SFDC) or PRM experience a plus

• MBA or other advanced degree in strategy, finance, marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship, or other related fields a plus

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements – startup experience a plus

• Demonstrated ability to research, gather, analyze, interpret, and visualize complex information

• Demonstrates strong self-awareness, open to different approaches and ideas, and open to challenging the status quo to drive new business initiatives
