About the Role

The Business Operations (Biz Ops) team is seeking a Service Management Reliability Engineer.
The role of Business Operations Organization is to be the production readiness
steward for Mastercard products. As a Business Operations SMRE, who are daily managing, mitigating, or elevating awareness of the business risk of all customer interactions with Mastercard technology. SMREs accomplish this by managing the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of the products within the programs they support.

Business Operations teams also focus on risk management by tying all our activities together with an overarching responsibility for compliance and risk mitigation across all our environments.
Ultimately, the role of Business Operations is to align Product and Customer Focused priorities with Operational needs by providing continuous feedback throughout the lifecycle.

Team Specific Skills

Provides tool and services support to business partners on new initiatives which vary in scope and complexity across a range of SMRE activities.

Proactive self-starter who identifies opportunities, builds sponsorship for and executes initiatives that enhance guild tools capability or reduces application and process risks

Diagnose routine support problems across guild tools and services, or apply known solutions, including documenting problems, progress checking, and escalation to ensure resolution

Develops, measures, and monitors ongoing effectiveness of services for guild tools, services and processes.

Maintains and improves guild tools, services and processes' quality by completing product, company, tools, compliance, and surveillance audits, investigating customer complaints, apply pressure-testing across all platforms, develops feedback loops from customer to guild for driving innovation and enhancement.

Partners with stakeholders to analyze Program and functional role workforce trends, works to identify right problems and implement solutions guild-wide

Supports development of resources in partnership with BGO lead(s) to improve customer satisfaction, launch internal tools and products, and ensure the 'why' around Biz Ops roles, responsibilities, maturity, and automation. #BizOpsoftheFuture #BOTF

Role qualifications

• BS degree in related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint)
• Experience with Power Platforms/Power Apps
• A passion for learning and working with cutting-edge of technology
• Highly motivated and people-centric person required with passion to make a positive difference across the guild
• Appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation. Be curious about new technology, infrastructure, and practices to scale our architecture and prepare for future growth.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting scaled tools, services and processes
• Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and to work as a member of matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team
• Ability to balance doing things right with fixing things quickly. Flexible and pragmatic, while working towards improving the long-term health of tools and services
• Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that expected system behaviour is understood and monitoring exists to detect anomalies.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
