Title and Summary

Senior BizOps Engineer We are looking for a BizOps Engineer/SRE with a strong background in on-premises platform with payments processing, and secure systems operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in certificate and key management, payment network protocols like ISO8583/ISO20022, and application/production Support. This role involves working across both technical and functional domains, ensuring availability, performance, and integrity of critical real time payment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate, monitor, and maintain real-time payments platforms and related services (Switching, Authorization, Settlement).

Work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to maintain high availability and resilience of applications and network components.

Support payment message flows including ISO8583 and ISO20022 formats will have added advantage.

Act as a bridge between product, operations, and engineering teams to ensure smooth incident resolution, change deployments, and root cause analysis.

Interface with payment card networks (e.g., Visa, MasterCard, RuPay) for transaction flow understanding and compliance.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to continuous improvements and automation within DevOps pipelines.

Support UI-based tools for operational monitoring, metrics tracking, and incident management.

Troubleshoot complex issues across Oracle SQL, and Unix-based systems.

Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle, security keys, and integrations involving HSMs and secure components.

Required Skills & Experience:

Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

Ability to help debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.

We support many different stakeholders. Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency is needed.

Interest in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

We need team members with an appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation. Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and to build relationships is a must.

Experience in industry standard CI/CD tools like Git/ Bit-Bucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef. Experience designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow that gets code from dev to prod with high quality and minimal manual effort is desired.

Proficiency in: application / production Support role on Unix/Linux platform-based apps, knowledge of shell scripting and Oracle Database is must

experience with: SSL/TLS certificate management, HSMs, Security Key Management - - will be added advantage.

Networking knowledge: F5 Load Balancers, secure traffic routing, firewall configurations - will be added advantage.

Good understanding of DevOps tools, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines

having Erlang knowledge will be plus



Process Knowledge:

Hands-on experience with ITSM tools (Incident, Change, Work Order Management)

Agile delivery practices and understanding of SDLC

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. O'Fallon, Missouri: $94,000 - $157,000 USD
