Title and Summary

Senior Software Engineer Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in mobile app development and a passion for cutting-edge technologies, to join our customer facing global R&D / innovation services team – Digital Labs.
As a key member of our team, you will be a member of a highly agile team of engineers within Mastercard Digital Labs, working to build product prototypes and pilots, in collaboration with global brands in commerce.
This engineering team will have a diverse focus both in terms of geography and variety of technology challenge and is the first team go-to market team as part of a global mobilization plan for this business unit.

Role:
• Lead the end-to-end development of mobile applications, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and seamless user experiences.
• Drive the architectural decisions for mobile applications, considering scalability, flexibility, and maintainability, ensuring they can seamlessly accommodate growing demands and evolving user needs.
• Craft innovative solutions in rapid prototyping, showcasing a keen eye for UI design details.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members.
• Utilize a deep understanding of design patterns to architect robust and maintainable software solutions that align with industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize mobile applications for optimal performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies, incorporating best practices into development processes.

All About You:
• Advanced proficiency in React and React Native.
• Advanced expertise in Node.js.
• Experience in interfacing with RESTful services and integrating 3rd Party SDKs.
• Passion for design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Depth of experience in custom UI design, animations, and interactions.
• Extensive experience in rapid prototyping, showcasing a keen eye for UI design details.
• Comfortable working with UX, Visual, and Motion Designers.
• Proven ability to work in a small, startup-style, agile, and fast-paced team.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner and take ownership of tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
• Willing to travel (25-50%)

Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in both startup and corporate environments.
• Familiarity with native iOS (ObjC/Swift) or native Android (Java/Kotlin) development.
• Background in building Internet of Things (IoT) devices/interfaces.
• A portfolio of owned apps with provided links and descriptions.
• Experience in Design Sprints.
• Expertise in building Conversational UI (CUI/VUI) and Bots (Amazon Alexa, FB Messenger, Google Assistant).
• Development for various form factors (Mobile, Tablet, Watch, TV, Auto, Smart Display, Kiosk).
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (NLP/ML/CNN/RNN).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms.
• Experience in financial services, banking, and payment systems.
