Overview
Are you passionate about improving the working lives of thousands of people by providing them with better tools and experiences? Do you thrive on automation, simplification, and solving complex problems that don't have straightforward solutions? If you enjoy identifying and resolving system risks while connecting business needs with technical solutions, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.
As part of a forward-thinking team driving change on a large scale, you'll play a key role in enhancing our People & Capability Technology ecosystem and promoting a culture of technical excellence. You'll bring a focus on process automation and leverage your expertise to create innovative solutions. By keeping business priorities in focus, you will collaborate with a dynamic team that thrives on teamwork and a shared commitment to success.

As a Senior Software Engineer – Workday Integrations:
• Design and deliver end-to-end Workday integrations — including requirements gathering, technical design, development, configuration, validation, deployment, and post-production support using Studio, Orchestrations, Core Connectors, EIB, RaaS, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Manage data mapping, transformation, and validation across inbound and outbound integrations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance for Core HCM and Talent processes.
• Support the integration lifecycle, including environment strategy, code promotion, testing (unit, regression, end-to-end), and production hypercare.
• Contribute to and maintain integration playbooks, reusable templates, and standards to improve consistency and reduce delivery timelines.
• Act as a technical advisor on Workday integration best practices and design patterns, partnering with HR, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in Workday release activities, including impact analysis, regression testing, and adoption of new integration and Extend capabilities.
• Design scalable, automated, and reusable integration solutions that improve system reliability and operational efficiency across the Workday ecosystem.

Role:
The Senior Software Engineer, Workday Integrations, is responsible for the design, development, and support of Workday integrations and Extend solutions. In this role, you will:
• Design and develop integrations using Workday Studio, Orchestrations, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, and REST/SOAP web services to connect Workday with payroll providers, benefits administrators, talent platforms, and internal data services.
• Own integration configuration, architecture patterns, and error-handling frameworks to ensure consistency across global and multi-entity environments.
• Build, test, and deploy integration business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and data transformations supporting Core HCM and Talent workflows.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, data mappings, configuration details, and operational runbooks.
• Drive automation and enhanced user experiences through Workday Extend applications and REST-based services.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of hands-on Workday integration experience, including Studio, Orchestrations, Core Connectors, EIB, RaaS, REST, and SOAP.
• Strong understanding of the Workday data model and business processes, with deep experience in Core HCM and Talent (experience with Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Payroll, and Security is a plus).
• 4+ years of experience with complex reports, calculated fields, and business process frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience with data transformation, validation, and integration error handling.
• Proficiency in XML, XSLT, JSON, XSD, and integration debugging techniques.
• Experience with API authentication, encryption, certificates (x509/PGP), and secure data exchange patterns (SFTP).
• Hands-on experience with Workday Extend or experience developing custom applications that enhance Workday functionality.
• Experience supporting integrations in global environments with complex integration landscapes.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional HR, IT, and security teams.
• Strong passion for Workday technology, automation, and integration modernization.
________________________________________
All About You:
• Ability to analyze existing integration landscapes and identify technical debt related to performance, scalability, and supportability.
• Workday Integration or Studio certification preferred; Extend certification is a plus.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence outcomes through technical expertise and credibility.
• Detail-oriented and structured, maintaining documentation, version control, and audit readiness for integration assets.
• Curious and forward-looking, actively engaging with the Workday Community and staying current on product releases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with both technical and functional stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions under deadlines.
• Collaborative team player comfortable working independently or in agile delivery environments.
