Our Team:

The Global Portfolio Optimization (GPO) team seeks to accelerate growth in activation and usage in existing Consumer Debit and Credit Portfolios. Activation and reactivation, stimulating spending and growing loyalty and premium card bases are highly efficient and effective actions which boost portfolio profitability. We collaborate with sales, product, marketing, and services consulting colleagues to optimize digital and physical commerce with target customers in key countries.
The Global Optimization team is structured around 4 key pillars:
1. Target: Advanced analytics to identify performance optimization opportunities
2. Create: Tailor-made content and best practices to engage customers
3. Execute: Pipeline management and delivery of optimization engagements
4. Measure: Monitoring and impact assessment of engagements

The Target team are owners of optimization KPIs which means we set targets, lead on insight development for internal and external customers, ensure data quality and drive performance reporting across all levels of the organization. To scale ourselves and our impact, we also build and maintain internal data products and tools.

The Role:

We are seeking a senior analyst to join Mastercard's Global Portfolio Optimization (GPO) team and support our expanding operational, analytical, and business process needs. This role is essential in ensuring the management of high-priority KPIs such as Spend Active Rate (SAR) and Cross-Border Activation, by ensuring the following activities:
• Assist with KPI close responsibilities including Monthly and Quarterly KPI analysis including variance, drivers and decliners and trend analysis.
• Engage with regions to gather micro and macro factors driving performance to ground KPI analysis in real-world context
• Create simple and compelling presentations, summarizing KPI performance and communicating key insights to non-technical audiences
• Streamline and automate quarter close processes driving efficiencies
• Ad Hoc & Bespoke Analytics: Lead quarterly refreshes and deep dives into key portfolio trends, focusing on geographic, top customer and segment insights. Generate actionable analytics and custom reports to support business strategy and client needs.

• You have advanced data analytics experience, preferably within global financial services or consulting environments
• You show strong oral and written communication, organizational, and presentation abilities; able to synthesize complex data into clear, compelling deliverables and conceptualize creative business solutions and presentations
• You demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation capabilities
• You exhibit project management skills, managing multiple priorities and deliverables in fast-paced settings
• You show a client-focused perspective, understanding client needs, communicating ideas clearly, and interacting effectively with management and stakeholders
• You have meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• You are self-motivated and act proactively, operating with a strong sense of urgency
• You can collaborate as a team player, engaging effectively across internal stakeholders and collecting requirements
• You have expertise in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros), PowerPoint, and Thinkcell; you demonstrate proficiency with data visualization platforms. Knowledge of SQL and Python is a plus
• You have excellent oral and written English, including quantitative and technical communications
