Title and Summary

Senior Vice President Marketing & Communication, Northern Europe Overview
The role is responsible for leading the marketing and communications organization for the Northern Europe Division of Mastercard which consists of the 9 markets in Nordics Baltics and the Netherlands. It sits on the International Marketing & Communications Europe and Northern Europe's senior leadership team, with joint responsibility for setting and delivering the division's strategy and creating a culture where people can be happy and successful.

Role

• Oversee Mastercard's brand presence across relevant consumer/B2B touchpoints and media channels. Capitalize on digital marketing and leverage the latest technologies to lead the design and execution of agreed direct-to-consumer and B2B initiatives (for all the different segments); including marketing platforms for consumer/B2B engagement and loyalty; campaign and activation in traditional and digital/mobile channels; sponsorships marketing; and internal and external communications.
• Set division and market marketing and communications strategies, leading a group of subject matter experts across brand & advertising, PR & communications, customer marketing, product marketing, sponsorships etc., to drive an integrated approach aligning with business priorities in each market to deliver against company objectives.
• Set budget strategies for the division including allocation, prioritization, optimization, compliance and general oversight. Makes decisions and adjustments throughout the year according to changing priorities and performance.
• Play a critical role in the Northern Europe Division Senior Leadership Team by securing how marketing and communications can partner with the business to achieve common objectives by complementing each other.
• Transforming, jointly with the team, divisional and global strategies to market relevant strategies for each of the individual countries/cluster of countries and respective country managers.
• Play a critical role in the matrix organization driving through division and market objectives while supporting global marketing and communications strategy and product priorities.
• Provide thought leadership to all Mastercard marketing and communications teams in and outside of the division, cross functional teams extending beyond marketing, provide direction and guidance on Steerco's, and externally with agency leadership teams and account/support teams working on the Mastercard business.
• Play a critical role building relationships and partnering with other parts of the organization in support of meeting business objectives and championing the needs of the division to secure the appropriate resources and support.
• Oversee division sponsorship contract negotiations.
• Drive the marketing value proposition including attendance and speaking at internal and external events, customer executive conversations to support the business side of the business building trust with our partners/customers and contributing to key business negotiations.
• Play a role in the marketing and advertising industry to position Mastercard as a leading global brand.
• Play a key role in the European IMC Senior Leadership Team by partnering informing and consulting on Europe and global marketing and communications strategies and programs.

• Experience working in multinational environments and managing regional marketing strategies.
• Experience managing large budgets and delivering ROI on marketing investments.
• Skilled at influencing C-suite executives and aligning cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record leading marketing and communications organizations to establish and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned to business goals and objectives.
• Proven ability in building and strengthening collaborative relationships with regional and global Marketing counterparts and representing the voice of the division and market.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships and bonds with the business side of the organization with a proved track record of creating a one-team- spirit between marketing and comms and the business
• Significant experience and proven success in one or more marketing families, with further experience in three or more marketing families, including PR and communications, B2B and Consumer Marketing.
• Experience operating in sophisticated advertising and media markets.
• Proven track record of major contract negotiation driving to win/win and or sound commercial success aligning marketing and communications with the business.
• Track record of building partnerships and relationships with proven ability to influence.
