Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager, Observability Engineer to design, implement, and optimize solutions that provide deep visibility into our distributed systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure our applications and infrastructure are monitored, measurable, and reliable. Your expertise will help us detect issues faster, remediate problems automatically, and continuously improve system performance.
Role
• Design, build, and maintain observability solutions using Open Telemetry (OTEL), Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, ELK Stack, and related tools.
• Develop automated remediation and self-healing workflows to reduce downtime and accelerate incident recovery.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting across applications and infrastructure for comprehensive visibility.
• Leverage machine learning to detect anomalies, predict failures, and drive proactive improvements.
• Collaborate closely with software teams to instrument code, build dashboards, and analyze telemetry data for actionable insights.
• Continuously enhance observability tooling and processes to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.

All About You
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, and ELK Stack.
• Extensive hands-on experience in observability engineering within production environments
• Proficiency in Java development, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and telemetry standards like Open Telemetry (OTEL).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a collaborative mindset to work across teams.

Pay Ranges

Vancouver, Canada: $127,000 - $203,000 CAD
