Job TitleVice President, Risk & Regulatory AffairsMajor Accountabilities:
Strategizes and implements policies and procedures to minimize risk exposure and drive the credit management infrastructure and proper controls
Supports leadership, leveraging subject matter expertise regarding accounting principles, financial statements, generally accepted industry audit standards and internal control concepts
Drives and implements cross-functional initiatives to deliver on risk goals, policies and procedures
Manages and oversees preparations for Audit Committee meetings, prepares documents highlighting net exposure across regions and high-risk customers
Manages and creates risk strategies (e.g. SOX 404 compliance) in order to optimize risk-related policies and regulations for multiple regions
Liaises with business partners to develop, manage and document best practices for risk processes; may assist in regional treasury operations and solutions
Oversees multiple internal and external project-based teams to implement risk plans and reviews
Manages one or more teams, conducts goal setting and performance appraisal processes, coaches and develops employees as an organizational resource
Develops and executes regulatory strategy for a business area that is aligned new business long-term business goals with that of the regulatory asks
Liaises and develops relationships with regulatory policymakers to advocate on issues impacting the new business
Plays a lead role in addressing critical, high risk and/or enterprise-wide business issues with regulators, often serving as a bridge for new business leaders and teams
Provides thought leadership and subject matter expertise on regulatory issues for a specific area and often called upon to represent the new business at external industry events, contributing to expert panels and sharing white papers and best practices, etc., to enhance the organization's brands and efficiency
Ideally has some understanding of the risk and regulatory requirements of PBOC's Bankcard switching requirements and other relevant regulatory guidelines
Degree in Public Policy, Legal Studies and/or other related field preferred
Experience in payments industry a huge plus
Managed a complex, global credit exposure management infrastructure and/or assessed credit risks
Experience collaborating cross-functionally to identify and implement best practice risk processes
Successfully managed and ensured compliance throughout a complex global organization
Demonstrated successful oversight of the management and resolution of high-risk issues to ensure completeness
Proven track record in anticipating and effectively translating changes in regulatory landscape into business and technology strategies
Experience initiating and managing investigations of enterprise wide and/or strategic high-risk business compliance issues
Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to analyse complex issues and provide direction towards their resolution
