Vice President, Software Engineering About Ethoca
Ethoca, a Mastercard company, is a global provider of collaboration-based technology solutions for merchants and card issuers. Our mission is to make digital commerce experiences simpler and more secure. As we scale our flagship Alerts product and transition to Mastercard's Azure Cloud Platform, we are seeking a visionary engineering leader to drive innovation, execution, and team growth.

Role Overview
As VP of Software Engineering, you will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for the design, development, and delivery of Ethoca's innovative products. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical roadmap, scaling cloud-native architectures, and fostering a high-performance engineering culture. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, strong people leadership, and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization across multiple geographies and product lines.
• Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle for key products, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to define and execute the technology roadmap.
• Drive the migration of legacy systems to Mastercard's Cloud Platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, leveraging AI, and agile delivery.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders and individual contributors.
• Ensure compliance with Mastercard's security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
• Deep understanding of modern software development practices, microservices, and cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
• Experience leveraging AI
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., payments, fintech) is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
