About the Role
The Vice President of Technology Strategy will lead the development of Mastercard's technology strategy and strategic technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and driving innovation in payments technology. This senior leadership role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in technology strategy, transformation, and cross-functional collaboration.
A consulting background is highly preferred, as the role demands strong problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and advisory skills to drive strategy and transformation at both technical and business levels. The ideal candidate will have experience working in top-tier technology consulting or digital transformation roles, helping enterprises navigate large-scale modernization programs.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development, formulation and communication of Mastercard's corporate technology strategies and objectives, aligning with Mastercard's global vision and business objectives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with senior business leaders to design, evaluate and advance their technology strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
• Monitor market trends and technological advancements to inform strategic decisions and maintain competitive advantage.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CTO and other senior leaders, providing insights and recommendations on technology strategy.
• Communicate technology strategies and progress to internal stakeholders, including executive leadership and board members.
• Oversee the execution of complex initiatives, ensuring alignment across diverse teams and geographies.
• Spearhead technology transformation programs including roadmaps, business cases, and resource plans to support strategic initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry organizations to influence industry trends and standards.
• Promote development and sharing of best practices and knowledge across the organization.
• Lead and mentor a team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Support the recruitment and development of talent to build a high-performing technology strategy team.

• Demonstrated ability to balance the delivery of strategy and program engagements with strong problem solving, project management and creative resourcefulness.
• Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plan.
• Ability to connect both on an individual level and in large groups; capacity to enforce accountability, cultivate entrepreneurship and learn the strengths and weaknesses of the team to put people in a position to succeed.
• Highly developed presentation, facilitation, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Savvy collaborator and consensus builder with a track record of bringing people together around a common cause with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proven track record of leading and executing large-scale technology strategy and transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience as a leader with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop talent.
• Experience in the Financial Services and/or payments industry, with an understanding of Mastercard's products and services.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field.
• Strong experience in technology strategy, product management, or engineering leadership roles, with a background in consulting preferred.
